Here's the cool thing about being Brazil: Even when there are a dozen games that matter going on and you're playing a friendly, you still get on TV. Everyone loves Brazil. They don't have to qualify for the next World Cup on account of hosting it, so they get to continue their magical worldwide friendly tour with a game against South Africa.
Brazil Vs. South Africa: Because Brazil Needs Games Too
Brazil and South Africa are playing on TV, because TV stations would rather carry Brazil friendlies than competitive matches featuring anyone else.

Everyone’s still mad about Brazil not winning the gold medal at the Olympics, so there are fears that ticket sales at the Morumbi in Sao Paolo might be poor. There are a few more inexperienced and domestically-based players on the squad than usual, though the likes of Neymar, Hulk and Daniel Alves will still take the pitch.
South Africa get to play in this match for the same reason as Brazil. It’s Africa Cup of Nations qualifying week in CAF, and South Africa are hosting that competition this January. Hence, they’re not required to qualify. Some young players, including 18-year-old defender Kgosi Ntlhe and Maccabi Haifa striker Dino Ndlovu, could make their debuts for Bafana Bafana on Friday.
