It was the second goal Jamaica had scored on a free kick in the game. Unlike the first one, though, this was close to perfect as Shelton beat U.S. goalkeeper Tim Howard in the upper corner with a ball that ricocheted in off the goal post. Shelton now has 35 international goals in just 68 matches.
Jamaica has had most of the run of play ever since the United States jumped out to a lead with a goal in the 1st minute.
A win by Jamaica would really force the United States into a virtual must-win situation on Tuesday when the two teams play again in Columbus, Ohio.
