Without Giovani dos Santos available, Jose Manuel de la Torre has decided to change Mexico's formation. He has plenty of depth and quality up top, and has opted to use it. Costa Rica should have their hands full, as both Javier Hernandez and Oribe Peralta get starts up top. The Ticos have plenty of firepower as well, with Joel Campbell and Alvaro Saborio, who should cause problems for Mexico's defense.

Costa Rica’s lineup isn’t entirely obvious, but it looks like they’ll be playing with three central defenders and a hybrid back three/five. Christian Bolaños is their most dangerous player in midfield and Mexico might have a bit of trouble with him.
