From the fantastic Batman card series of 1966 comes Striking Out the Cobra, a creation of the talented Norman Saunders (who also did the painting for the Mars Attacks series).

These cards were a nice contrast to the campy Batman TV show of the same period. For one thing, they had an older look to them, as though they’d been painted in the 1940s and then released 20 years later. For another, they were fraught with menace and danger of a level the show didn’t care to approach.
