The NFLPA Collegiate Bowl kicks off its seventh annual contest on Jan. 17, with former NFL coaches Dick Vermeil and Herm Edwards on the sidelines for each squad. Once known as the “Texas vs the Nation” Bowl, this is the second year under its new name.
2013 NFLPA Collegiate Bowl: Olympian Marquise Goodwin highlights roster
How many top draft prospects will you be seeing in this game on Jan. 17?

This game gives some lesser-known prospects an opportunity to show off their skills if they were not selected for other postseason bowls, such as the popular Senior Bowl. Many of the players will likely try to find NFL homes through free agency, rather than the draft. One player that will be looking to impress is University of Texas wide receiver Marquise Goodwin, a 2012 Olympic athlete who finished 10th in the long jump in London.
Goodwin played in 49 games for the Longhorns, finishing his career with 116 catches for 1,296 yards and six touchdowns while also returning kicks and punts. In the 2012 Alamo Bowl against Oregon State, Goodwin scored two touchdowns and earned Offensive MVP honors. He should have no problem finding an NFL home this April.
Another name of interest is Fresno State running back Robbie Rouse, the 13th-ranked RB by NFL Draft Scout. Rouse ran for more than 4,600 yards in his career with the Bulldogs.
The full roster can be found here. The game will start at 3 p.m. PT in Carson, Calif. on Jan. 17.
