Kelvim Escobar signs one-year minor league deal with Brewers
Veteran pitcher Kelvim Escobar hasn’t played in the major leagues since 2007, and he has started a promising comeback in his home country of Venezuela.

The 36-year-old native of Venezuela has agreed on a one-year minor league contract with the Milwaukee Brewers with an invitation to big league Spring Training, the player himself tweeted.
He reappeared in Venezuela with Cardenales de Lara this winter, posting a 1.64 ERA in 11 innings of work both as a starter and reliever, fanning eight. Lara is currently in the Venezuelan five-team semifinal round robin, and Escobar is on the roster.
MLB.com says Milwaukee scouts have seen Escobar throwing a mid-90s fastball with encouraging review.
