Michigan might always be known as a football school, but no one could blame the university’s students and fans if basketball has momentarily commandeered the top spot in their hearts. The No. 2 Wolverines blitzed Nebraska on Wednesday to improve to 16-0 behind their dynamic backcourt and the strength of their home crowd.
Michigan students wear jorts to celebrate their excellent basketball team
Michigan students busted out their finest pair of jorts to celebrate the Wolverines’ win over Nebraska on Wednesday.

And what a good-looking crowd it was. Perhaps as a tip of the cap to the impending return of “Arrested Development” or maybe as a homage to the Miami Heat’s decision to sign Josh Harrellson, the students of Michigan took the opportunity to celebrate the sure blowout vs. Nebraska by rocking their finest jorts. Photographic evidence:
It’s worth noting that these largely appear to be self-tailored jeans (cut-offs, as the kids say), which aren’t exactly the same jorts. But -- mortality alert -- the current students in Ann Arbor likely aren’t even old enough to have ever lived in a world where a nice pair of fitting jean shorts were considered fashionable.
