Mathieu Darche to attend New Jersey Devils training camp
The veteran forward will attend the Devils’ training camp in a bid to make an NHL roster for the 2013 season.

Darche spent the past three seasons with the Montreal Canadiens, registering five goals and seven assists in 61 games in 2011-12. The 36-year-old forward spent the entire 2008-09 season with the Portland Pirates of the AHL, after bouncing back and forth between the NHL and AHL during stints with the Columbus Blue Jackets, Nashville Predators, San Jose Sharks and Tampa Bay Lightning.
The left winger went undrafted after playing for McGill University and made his NHL debut with the Blue Jackets during the 2000-2001 season. Darche had a career-high 12 goals and 14 assists in 59 games with the Canadiens in 2010-2011.
The Devils open the season on Saturday, Jan. 19, on the road against the New York Islanders.
