The Anaheim Ducks are making securing the futures of Corey Perry and Ryan Getzlaf a priority this season, as both are set to become unrestricted free agents this summer. Perry and Getzlaf, who were No. 2 and 3 in team scoring a season ago, are once again playing on the top line together as training camps get underway this week.

The Anaheim Ducks are focused on re-signing the top two players on the roster, with both Corey Perry and Ryan Getzlaf set to hit free agency this summer.

According to Elliotte Friedman of the CBC, Ducks general manager Bob Murray will be meeting with the agents of both players following a two-game road trip to start the season, when face-to-face meetings will take place in Anaheim. The Ducks currently have 12 players under contract for the 2013-14 season, with Perry and Getzlaf the priority among the seven players set to hit free agency this summer.
“It’s my priority,” Murray told the media. “They’ve been Anaheim Ducks from the start. I love those guys. Both agents will come in during the next two weeks and we’ll do everything we can to sign them.”
Getzlaf is set to earn $6.125 million in the final year of his 5-year contract, while Perry is earning $4.875 million and coming off a 37-goal season. Both players are set to count $5.235 million against the cap this season.
