Defenseman Lubomir Visnovsky is expected to report to the New York Islanders, although, when that might occur is still not known, according to Arthur Staple of Newsday.
Lubomir Visnovsky agrees to return to New York Islanders
Veteran defenseman Lubomir Visnovsky has requested to remain in the KHL for two more weeks.

Visnovsky was traded to the Islanders in the offseason and initially attempted to block the trade, but arbitration ruled against the veteran defenseman. Heading to the KHL during the lockout to play much closer to home and his family, Visnovsky had refused to return to the NHL for the start of the truncated season with the KHL appearing to be ready to test the agreement between the Russian league and the NHL.
On Tuesday, the KHL released a statement that the league would honor the Memorandum of Understanding with the NHL and would not allow Visnovsky to continue to play in the KHL this season. Wednesday morning, Visnovksy revealed that his desire to stay was tied to the health of his son and that he’s requested the Islanders to allow him to remain in the KHL for two more weeks:
Visnovsky: "I still can't fly, need to stay for at least 2 wks. My son has health issues. Nothing serious, but recovery will take a while."

The Islanders are set to open the season on Saturday against the New Jersey Devils.
