The Hawks will be without forward Josh Smith on Wednesday night after the team suspended its leading scorer for conduct detrimental to the team. Smith’s agent has met with the team to express Smith’s “frustration” with the team’s current situation.
Hawks may look for All-Star help

But if Ferry decides to move Smith, the assets coming back in the form of young players and/or draft picks would force the Hawks to look down the road further, which would likely keep the Hawks mired in the middle of the East for the near-term.

He also said that other teams are interested in the versatile forward. Other sources in the NBA confirmed to Berger that there is widespread interest.
Atlanta has lost six of its last seven games.
