Winter X Games 2013: TV schedule and events for Day 1
The Winter X Games offer up two chances to see Shaun White in action on the first day of competition.


You’ll get two chances to watch White in action as the Winter X Games kick off with a double-dose of White on Thursday in Aspen, Colo. He will compete in the snowboard SlopeStyle and SuperPipe elimination rounds in two of the four events taking place on the first day of competition. The only medal event will be the Snowmobile Freestyle event.
Competition begins with the Men’s Ski SuperPipe elimination round at 12:30 p.m. ET. The medal event for Men’s Ski SuperPipe medal event will take place on Friday.
ESPN begins its coverage at 3 p.m. with the Men’s Snowboard SlopeStyle elimination round. On Wednesday in SlopeStyle practice, White nailed a triple cork 1440, which has never been thrown in a slopestyle competition. Fellow competitor Mark McMorris also reportedly landed the trick in practice on Wednesday.
Events resume at 9 p.m. with the Men’s Snowboard SuperPipe. White has won SuperPipe gold in five straight X Games and seven times overall. The Snowmobile Freestyle medal will also be handed out at the evening session.
