Marcus Edmond could follow Kyrin Priester to Clemson from N.C. State

N.C. State commit Marcus Edmond could flip his allegiance to Clemson this weekend.

Since the hiring of former N.C. State secondary coach Mike Reed, Clemson has made a move on a couple of Wolfpack commits. The Tigers have already convinced Kyrin Priester to defect, and they're hoping Marcus Edmond will be next, according to David Hood of tigernet.com.

Reed was hired earlier this month to take over for Charlie Harbison, who left the Tigers to join Gus Malzahn’s first staff at Auburn. The new Clemson secondary coach recruited Priester, a four-star wide receiver, and Edmond, a three-star defensive back, while at N.C. State .

The Tigers previously had not shown much interest in Edmond, South Carolina’s 12th-best prospect in the class of 2013, and when Reed made the offer, Edmond immediately began having second thoughts about the Wolfpack:

“Coach Reed came in and he explained how he wanted me to come to Clemson with him,” Edmond said. “I had always wanted to go to Clemson. I love the history and the atmosphere there.”

Edmond will make an official visit to Clemson this weekend, and it sounds like he could flip his commitment soon:

“They have great coaches, and I like the campus,” he said. “I know they have a lot of history, and this was an offer I was waiting on.”
