Wells played nine games for the Rams in 2012, a year after signing a four-year, $24 million contract in free agency.

After signing with the Rams as a free agent in March of 2012, he had surgery on his right knee after injuring it in spring practice. He recovered in time to start in the team’s first game against the Lions, but broke his right foot in that game. He missed the next nine.

Upon being reactivated to the Rams roster, he injured his right knee again, but played through it to finish the season.
It’s being reported now that Wells recently had surgery on that right knee, but isn’t expected to miss spring activity. The durable 2011 Pro Bowl selection when he was with Green Bay had missed just two games in his eight-year career.
The Rams allowed 1.5 sacks in the six games Wells played at the end of the season, while allowing 2.6 sacks per game in the first 10 games of 2012.
He signed a four-year, $24 million contract with the Rams a year after helping the Packers win Super Bowl XLV.
The Rams balanced their first four picks in the 2012 NFL Draft between offense and defense, getting a high level of production from cornerback Janoris Jenkins, one of their three second round picks. Getting Wells healthy for 2013 will be a big factor in whether St. Louis can make the jump from a mediocre offensive unit to an outstanding one - something their defense is already turning into as they enter the off-season.
