The Columbus Blue Jackets celebrated a game-tying goal in the second period on Saturday night against the Chicago Blackhawks, a power play tally that could have been a game-changing moment against the top team in the NHL.

The Columbus Blue Jackets felt they were robbed of an apparent game-tying goal in the second period against the Chicago Blackhawks.

As the players celebrated on the ice and Nationwide Arena erupted in cheers and a goal song, however, referee Dan O'Rourke emphatically called off the goal due to goaltender interference. The shot from the point had snuck under goalie Corey Crawford just as Columbus' Nick Foligno had taken up residence at the top of the crease.

Foligno insisted after the game he felt he had not interfered with Crawford, according to Aaron Portzline of the Columbus Dispatch.
"Not at all," Foligno said. "You all saw the replay. If anything, he comes out to kind of push me. I saw him push (Blue Jackets winger R.J. Umberger) and then me after. I just tipped the puck in and didn't even feel him.
“I was really disappointed in that. But that’s the breaks of the game. It’s just unfortunate it was at such a crucial point in the game. It would have been a 2-2 game and maybe a whole different outcome.”
The Blackhawks extended the lead to 3-1 at the 6:35 mark of the third period. Columbus closed to within 3-2 thanks to Artem Anisimov's second goal of the season with just over two minutes remaining, yet the Blue Jackets would go on to lose their fourth game in a row.
Columbus faces the Dallas Stars on Monday.
