LSU Tigers junior defensive back Tharold Simon will forgo his senior year of eligibility, choosing to enter the NFL Draft early, he confirmed on his Twitter account.
Tharold Simon leaving LSU for 2013 NFL draft, according to report
The junior cornerback from Eunice, Louisiana will jump to the professional ranks and skip his senior season, making him another big loss for the Tigers defense.


Simon ranks 13th on SB Nation writer Dan Kadar's 2013 NFL Draft cornerback rankings. Kadar expressed puzzlement with the decision in his own tweet.

Simon led the Tigers defense in 2012 with four interceptions, nine passes broken up and 13 passes defensed. The junior from Eunice, Louisiana also finished sixth on the team with 45 tackles.
The departure of Simon makes it three junior defenders who will leave LSU for the NFL. Safety Eric Reid and linebacker Kevin Minter have both already declared their respective intents to enter the draft.
