It’s been nearly a year and a half since a tragic plane crash killed the entire Lokomotiv Yaroslavl team, but the wounds are still deep throughout the hockey world.

The Lokomotiv Yaroslavl tragedy was on the minds of Team Russia after they won bronze at the 2013 WJC.

Lokomotiv has returned to KHL action this season, and after the Russians won bronze with a victory over Canada Saturday morning at the 2013 World Junior Championships in Ufa, 18 hours west of Yaroslavl, it was clear the tragedy was on the minds of many. Nail Yakupov, pictured above with the Lokomotiv flag, honored them accordingly.
