Juan Manuel Marquez landed a hard punch as soon as the eighth round of his bout with Timothy Bradley got underway. Bradley threw hard shots back and stopped Marquez from coming forward and let it slide right back into the pacing that Bradley wanted.

Marquez started avoiding some of the jabs of Bradley, but Bradley constantly changed angles and found ways to get the punch in on the face of Marquez.
In addition to losing the tactical battle, Marquez was getting outpunched in terms of punches landed. And in this round, Bradley almost threw twice as many punches overall.
Marquez kept working and did manage to land a hard body shot and a right hand to the body, but Marquez answered with a hard right hand of his own, not letting Marquez build up too much momentum to close out the round.
