University of Louisville guard Kevin Ware is fully healthy and cleared to practice, coach Rick Pitino said during a press conference on Friday.
Louisville’s Kevin Ware cleared to practice, Rick Pitino says
Six months after suffering a leg fracture, Kevin Ware is back on the practice court.

“He has a clean bill of health,” said coach Pitino. “He can play all-out at the end of the month.”
Ware suffered a horrific compound leg fracture during the 2013 NCAA Tournament and just six months later is healthy and back on the court, and recently posted a video showing he can dunk again safely. Louisville would go on to win the NCAA Tournament without Ware, who was an inspirational figure on the bench and who cut down the net during the celebration after the championship game victory.
Pitino stated that although Ware is fully healthy physically and can get back on the court, he may need some time to fully recover mentally and get over the hesitation that comes with recovering from such an injury.
