Dwyane Wade injury: Heat star to play against Pacers

Miami’s superstar will play when the Heat face the Pacers Tuesday night.

Dwyane Wade will play and Michael Beasley will not when the Miami Heat meet the Indiana Pacers Tuesday night, according to Marc J. Spears of Yahoo! Sports. ESPN's Brian Windhorst originally tweeted that Wade was a game-time decision, but news broke hours later that Wade will be available.

Wade was held out of the Heat's 110-95 win over the Pistons Sunday. He has sat out six of Miami's 21 games so far as the Heat look like they are saving the superstar for the playoffs.

In 15 games, Wade is averaging 18.5 points per game, the lowest since his rookie season, but is shooting a career-high 53 percent from the field. His 53.4 effective field goal percentage is also the highest of his career, per Basketball-Reference.

Miami’s matchup against the Pacers Tuesday night is the much-anticipated first meeting of the year between last season’s Eastern Conference Championship foes. They rank No. 2 and No. 1, respectively, this season in the East.
