Michael McGlinchey will be reunited with Graham Arnold if he can agree to personal terms in a loan from Central Coast Mariners to J-League side Vegalta Sendai. The former Mariners manager has been keen on bringing A-League talent with him and McGlinchey is the first such move in that direction. Though according to the Sydney Morning Herald, McGlinchey turned down the initial offer from Sendai.

The Kiwi international would rejoin his former Central Coast Mariners manager Graham Arnold in the J-League in 2014.

McGlinchey will turn 27 in January and is a full New Zealand international. Without a World Cup trip this time around for the All Whites, the winger would be able to devote all of his attention to Arnold and his new club in Japan. Though he debuted as a professional in the Scottish Premier League, this move to the J-League would be McGlinchey's first foray abroad since moving to the Mariners in 2009.
In return, Central Coast manager Phil Moss is hoping to bring Bernie Ibini back to the club on loan from Shanghai SIPG of the Chinese Super League. The 21-year-old striker played ten times for East Asia during the 2013 season after transferring in early June. Due to family emergencies and some homesickness, Ibini’s big move to China has not worked out as well as he would have hoped and the youngster has been seeking to return to the A-League in the January transfer window.
