2014 NFL Draft order: Houston Texans at No. 1

The Texans have the first pick, but what should they do with it?

Troy Taormina-USA TODAY Sports

We have a new No. 1 in the 2014 NFL Draft order. By virtue of the Jacksonville Jaguars winning, the Houston Texans have taken over the top spot.

What Houston would do with the top pick is unclear. When the Jaguars had the top pick, it's fairly obvious they'd go with a quarterback. Meanwhile, Houston is going to continue seeing what they have in Case Keenum. The Texans also have Matt Schaub signed through the 2016 season.

South Carolina defensive end Jadeveon Clowney is a natural choice, but the Texans may not need him with J.J. Watt there already. If the Texans don't want a quarterback, they could hold the pick for ransom to a team that does.

In a storyline only the biggest of NFL Draft nerd could hope for, the Jaguars and Texans play each other on Thursday.

While the the Rams may have lost on Sunday, they can take some solace in the Redskins continuing to falter. The final pick from the Robert Griffin III trade going to St. Louis is now the No. 3 pick. That gives the Rams two picks in the top 15, ample ammunition to move up to No. 1 if they wanted.

Current 2014 NFL Draft order:

1. Houston Texans - 2-10 (.552)
