NFL Network’s Alex Flanagan reported on her blog that Foster was considering heart surgery, but now the Texans are debunking that:

According to Flanagan, Foster has an irregular heartbeat that has been with him since he was 12 years old. It's has never bothered him during a game, however, until Week 16 against the Minnesota Vikings.

Despite the heart problems, Foster has been one of the NFL’s best running backs for the last three seasons. In 2012, Foster rushed for 1,424 yards and a league-high 15 touchdowns in 16 games. He helped the Texans to the divisional round of the playoffs, but Houston lost to New England.

Foster has been a force since 2010, his sophomore season. That year he rushed for a league-high 1,616 yards and 16 touchdowns. He also had 2,220 yards from scrimmage, which was also the best mark in the NFL.
