The St. Mary’s Gaels are a longtime California college basketball powerhouse. But apparently they’ve decided that the “Gaels” is no longer an appropriate team nickname.
St. Mary’s is now apparently the RATTLERMAN
Move over, every other team nickname. The RATTLERMAN is in town.

Color me immensely disappointed. The Rattlerman is probably the most intensely awesome team nickname I’ve ever heard. Here are the only other names I can think of off the top of my head that are anywhere near as intense and bad-ass:
- The Metal Maniacs
- The Hitler-Punchers
- The Gigantic Machetes
- The Extended Dragonforce Guitar Solos
- The Die Hards
- The Staircase Fight From The Protectors
- The Bounty Hunters
