Hart wins MVP of Celebrity Game again

    Brett Davis-USA TODAY Sports

Comedian Kevin Hart lives for NBA All-Star Weekend and for the second straight year, he was named the MVP of the All-Star Celebrity Game Friday.

Hart, who played for the West, led his team to a 58-38 victory, not so much for his on-court contributions but for the ... uh ... intangibles? I guess? that he brought to the court. Among his accomplishments in the game, Hart had to borrow shoes from Chris Paul because he forgot his basketball shoes, incited a vintage finger wag from Dikembe Mutombo, got into a fight with a mascot and beat track star Usain Bolt in a (somewhat rigged) foot race.

    Kevin Hart fights a mascot

Once again, I present to you a GIF that doesn’t really make sense to me. What is Kevin Hart doing picking a fight with a mascot? What IS that mascot?

How weak do you have to be to get knocked down by Kevin Hart? Why is James Harden throwing punches?

    No, Ne-Yo. No

We’ve seen lots of hilarious/awful moments in the 2013 Celebrity Game so far, but this turnaround jumper by Ne-Yo takes the case.

Congratulations, Kevin Hart. You’re off the hook.

    Usain Bolt can dunk too

Usain Bolt is the fastest man alive. He might also be the most athletic player in the Sprint Celebrity All Star Game. In a first quarter that featured lots of terrible basketball and plenty of turnovers, Bolt provided an impressive highlight.

Check out Bolt getting up and throwing down the 2-hand flush. Pretty impressive.

Bolt, Mutombo part of NBA All-Star Celebrity Game

    Manuel Queimadelos Alonso

Olympic multiple gold-medalist sprinter Usain Bolt and former NBA center Dikembe Mutombo lead the list of stars who will participate in the 2013 NBA All-Star Celebrity Game on Friday. Former teammates James Harden and Russell Westbrook will serve as head coaches for the East and West teams for the event, and they’ll get help from assistants in actress and rap artist Queen Latifah and TV host Samantha Harris.

Comedian and actor Kevin Hart, who won the MVP honors in the 2012 Celebrity Game, is among the notable names that fill out the rosters. US Secretary of Education Arne Duncan, a former Harvard basketball player who led the East squad to an 86-54 win during last season’s All-Star Celebrity Game, is among those joining Hart.

How to watch the NBA All-Star Celebrity game

    Bob Donnan-US PRESSWIRE

It’s time for the NBA All-Star Celebrity Game again, friends! This year should hold a bit of added intrigue (I can’t emphasize how small this “bit” is) because six-time Olympic gold medalist Usain Bolt is playing. Bolt is probably the fastest man of all-time, but as Ball Don’t Lie’s Kelly Dwyer points out, he’s not very good at basketball, despite his 6-5 frame.

There’s no Justin Bieber this year, unfortunately. However, the return of Duncan is something that should be celebrated. Duncan, the captain of the Harvard basketball team in the Stone Age, made some terrific plays in the last game, and he can be expected to do the same again this year.
