Andrew Bynum injury: Sixers C ‘a couple weeks’ away from practicing

The fans in Philadelphia will have to keep playing the waiting game with their prized center.

Howard Smith-USA TODAY Sports

The Philadelphia 76ers’ Andrew Bynum spoke with reporters today about his timeline to return from injury. Bynum said he is still a couple weeks away from being able to play some one-on-one, per Christopher Vito of the Deleware County Daily Times.

Vito went on to post a few more tweets from his conversation with Bynum:

Bynum on Glashow: “He says he’s got some new software or something. It shows what’s going on. Just waiting to see what he says.”
— Christopher A. To sum up the above tweets on Bynum: he may experience pain in his knees for the rest of his playing days, he wants to come back and play this season, he still may re-sign with the Sixers after the season, and he will be seeing another doctor to take a look at his knees.

It has been a rough start to the Bynum era in Philly and fans are still eager to see if that era will actually get underway. There is nothing more frustrating for a player than having to deal with injuries, especially for a center that averages 18.7 points and 11.8 rebounds during his career.
