NBA trade rumors: Clippers trying to engage Celtics on deal again, according to report

With the trade deadline just hours away, teams are now trying to reengage previous talks.

Greg M. Cooper-US PRESSWIRE

The Los Angeles Clippers are reaching back out to the Boston Celtics on trade talks, per Steve Bulpett of the Boston Herald. It is not known -- at this time -- who the Clippers are targeting, but there have been previous rumors about Los Angeles acquiring Kevin Garnett.

Garnett has been a popular name in rumors with the Clippers, but he has a no-trade clause in his contract and would need to approve any deal that general manager Danny Ainge presents him with. Garnett is averaging 15 points and 7.6 rebounds this season for Boston.

Previous rumors have mentioned Eric Bledsoe and DeAndre Jordan as possible players the Celtics would seek in a trade. Bledsoe is averaging 9.6 points and 3.3 assists for the Clippers in just over 21 minutes per game. Bledsoe has also started 12 games for Los Angeles this season. Jordan is averaging a career high 9.0 points for the Clippers to go along with 7.3 rebounds and 1.4 blocks.
