The ACC Tournament kicks off on Thursday at Greensboro Coliseum with a number of teams trying to play their way off the bubble and into the Big Dance. Only Miami, Duke, North Carolina and NC State appear to be NCAA tournament locks, while a number of other clubs, including Virginia and Maryland, are looking to pick up a crucial win or two in Greensboro.

The tournament itself opens up Thursday afternoon with the No. 9 seed Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets taking on the eighth seeded Boston College Eagles. These two teams just recently met, with the Eagles stealing a 74-72 victory on the road against the Yellow Jackets on March 9.

Next up, the No. 5 seed NC State Wolfpack will face the Virginia Tech Hokies, a team that finished with an ACC-worst 4-14 mark in league play. Despite that poor conference record, the Hokies nearly upset NC State in the two team's only matchup of the season, losing 90-86 in overtime back on Feb. 16.

The evening session will tip off at 7 p.m. ET with the No. 7 seed Maryland Terrapins squaring off with No. 10 Wake Forest. At 20-11 overall and 8-10 in ACC play, the Terrapins desperately need a win here to help their at-large tournament chances.

The first day of the ACC Tournament will conclude when Leonard Hamilton's sixth-seeded Florida State Seminoles take on the No. 11 seed Clemson Tigers. Florida State swept the season series between these two clubs, winning 71-66 on Jan. 5 at Clemson, and following that up with a 60-57 victory in Tallahassee on Jan. 24.
