The threat of rain continues to grow for this weekend’s NASCAR races at Bristol Motor Speedway. Last week in Las Vegas, the rain came early in the weekend only washing out activities on Friday. This weekend, the threat of rain is during Saturday and Sunday. While I am not calling this a washout, rain could be a problem causing delays for the Nationwide Series and Sprint Cup Series Saturday and Sunday.

Cold front drops in from the north Saturday and stall over the Tennessee Valley Sunday. This will be the focusing mechanism for the development of scattered showers both days. To be honest, I don’t like the looks of this forecast but I am not calling it a wash. The odds of this being a wash at this point is about 45%. I will be tracking the rain and developing rain this weekend. We will more than likely see delays Saturday and Sunday thanks to to rain but if I was going I’d still go to the race and just prepare for the worst by bringing my rain gear and hoping for the best.
