Mavericks vs. Spurs final score: Tim Duncan fuels Spurs in 92-92 victory

The San Antonio Spurs swept the season-series with the Mavericks as Vince Carter missed a game-winning shot.

The San Antonio Spurs defeated the Dallas Mavericks in the first half of TNT's double-header Thursday night by the final score 92-91. With the win, the Spurs swept the season series, defeating the Mavericks in all four meetings.

The Mavericks brought the game to a one-point differential in the final seconds after Dirk Nowitzki hit a jumper, but Vince Carter was unable to deliver a game-winning shot in the final possession of the game.

Tim Duncan led the way for the Spurs, scoring 28 points and pulling down 19 rebounds. Gary Neal had a big night off the bench, scoring 16 points in 25 minutes. Manu Ginobili had a game-high 9 assists and 7 points.

Nowitzki struggled from the field, going only 6-for-16 from the field for his 21 points. The Mavericks were out-rebounded 35-to-49 by the Spurs, with only Nowitzki grabbing double-digit rebounds for Dallas.

The Mavericks had their four-game winning streak snapped and Dallas remains tenth in the Western Conference standings. The Spurs bounced back from a loss to the Minnesota Timberwolves on Tuesday and maintain a one-and-a-half game lead on the No. 2-seed Oklahoma City Thunder. Dallas travels to Cleveland to play the Cavaliers Friday night, followed by the Spurs, who also head to Cleveland Saturday.
