The San Francisco 49ers have 14 picks in the 2013 NFL Draft, including two each in the second and third rounds. That gives them a big opportunity to pull off some moves, points out CSN Bay Area. Coming off two seasons that saw them come up just short of a championship, a few key additions could push San Francisco over the hump. With the 31st and 34th overall picks, the Niners have a good chance at picking up a few players who could be quick to make an impact.
49ers rumors: San Francisco could shake up the NFL Draft
The Niners are likely to have 14 draft picks in the 2013 NFL Draft, giving them a chance to shape the entire event.

On the defensive side of the ball, the Niners have needs in both the secondary and the defensive front. That could mean D.J. Swearinger, a safety out of South Carolina who might be able to address the issues in coverage that were so glaring in the Super Bowl. Shawn Williams, former Georgia Bulldog, is another possibility. Niners Nation looked at Margus Hunt, defensive end from SMU, as a possibility for shoring things up on the line. Hunt has impressed with his motor, something likely to endear him to San Francisco's coaching staff. Jesse Williams was another possibility, but a strong pro day might have put the former Alabama standout defensive tackle out of San Francisco's reach.
Tight end is another need for San Francisco, and Travis Kelce out of Cincinatti and Florida's Jordan Reed are two possibilities. The Gators posted an embarrassing loss to Louisville in the 2013 Sugar Bowl, a game that saw Reed benched for a poor attitude. If his 4.72 40-yard dash wasn't enough to reassure teams, San Francisco may be able to grab him at the start of the second round. Kelce had 45 receptions for 722 yards and eight touchdowns in 2012 and could easily find a place in San Francisco's tight end-heavy offense.
Whatever needs San Francisco decides to address with their early picks, they still have a staggering 12 picks beyond those two. However they decide to use them, training camp is likely to see some fierce competition between some seriously-talented players.
