NBC Sports has been in the radio business since last fall, but they’re finally starting to get serious and bring some heavy hitters into the fold, especially with their new afternoon show.
NBC launches radio show with Bobby Valentine, Chipper Jones and Stan Van Gundy as rotating co-hosts
‘Voices of the Game with Newy Scruggs’ launches in the mid-day slot on April Fools’ Day over at NBC Sports Radio.

Leading in to Donovan McNabb and Mark Malone’s afternoon drive show from 3-7 p.m. ET, Dallas broadcaster Newy Scruggs will host a Noon-3 p.m. ET show called Voices of the Game. The second hour of each show will feature a regular co-host. Tuesdays will feature former MLB All-Star Chipper Jones. Wednesdays’ co-host is Sports Illustrated columnist Chris Mannix. On Thursday, former MLB manager Bobby Valentine will co-host, and on Fridays, former NBA coach and NBC Sports analyst Stan Van Gundy will join Scruggs.
The co-host for the show on Mondays has yet to be announced. Voices of the Game is yet another edition to NBC Sports Radio, which broadcasts online and on stations across the country. Scruggs joins Erik Kuselias, Clay Travis, Rodney Harrison and the aforementioned Malone and McNabb as current NBC Sports Radio hosts.
