Spurs star point guard Tony Parker will miss about four weeks with a Grade 2 left ankle sprain.

Parker injured the ankle in the third quarter of Friday’s game against the Kings, which the Spurs won handily, 130-102. He had to be helped off the court and initial reports after the game indicated that he would miss a few weeks.
Parker is in the midst of arguably the best season of his career, posting averages of 21.0 point and 7.6 assists on 53.3 percent shooting. His month of February was especially good, as he averaged 26.1 points and 8.3 assists on 54.0 percent shooting. With San Antonio boasting the NBA's best record at 46-14 and both Tim Duncan and Manu Ginobili missing time with injuries, Parker had established himself as an MVP candidate.
If Parker comes back in four weeks, that would be just in time for a tough stretch that includes games against the Heat, Clippers, Thunder, Grizzlies and Nuggets. However, knowing how careful Spurs head coach Gregg Popovich is with injuries, he likely will make sure that Parker is completely healthy before playing him, regardless of the opponents.
Manu Ginobili had 15 assists in the win over Sacramento, and he's likely to take over a bunch of the ball-handling duties with Parker sidelined. Gary Neal, Nando De Colo, Patty Mills and possibly even Cory Joseph will also be in line to help fill in.
