With three losses in their last six games, the No. 4 seeded Michigan Wolverines enter the 2013 NCAA Tournament struggling. They'll try to finish the season strong when they open tourney play on Thursday in the South Region against No. 13 South Dakota State.

After a disappointing end to their regular season, the Michigan Wolverines will look to bounce back when they open the NCAA Tournament Thursday against Montana. The Wolverines have won just three of their last six games entering this match-up.

For Michigan to have success in their opener, they'll need a big game from guard Trey Burke. The Big Ten Player of the Year averaged 19.2 points and 6.7 assists per game, and enters the NCAA Tournament having scored in double-figures in every game this season. Guard Tim Hardaway Jr. averaged 14.8 points per game for the Wolverines, who finished the regular season fifth in the Big Ten standings.
Meanwhile the No. 13 South Dakota State Jackrabbits enter the NCAA Tournament on a four-game win streak, led by the nation's fourth-leading scorer Nate Wolters. The senior guard averaged 22.7 points per game this season, and is coming off a 27-point performance in the Jackrabbits Summit League championship game victory over North Dakota State.
The winner of this game will next play Saturday, against the victor of the South Region’s No. 5 vs. No. 12 match-up between VCU and Akron.
