Fortunately for No. 10 Iowa State, Melvin Ejim's missed dunk midway through the first half was the worst thing to happen to the Cyclones against Notre Dame all night. In fact, it may have even spurred the team on.
Notre Dame vs. Iowa State: 2013 NCAA Tournament sees big Cyclones win, even bigger botched dunk
Iowa State rebounded from a blown dunk opportunity to run No. 7 Notre Dame out of Dayton, Ohio. The Cyclones’ 79-58 win puts them up against No. 2 Ohio State on Sunday.

Iowa State trailed No. 7 Notre Dame, 18-14, before Ejim’s blooper, and then went on a 21-9 run after it to take a 35-23 advantage into the locker room. With a second half that saw the Cyclones shoot close to 70 percent from the floor, they walked into a third-round game against second-seeded Ohio State with a 79-58 win.
ISU dominated the game despite having only two players in double figures, and Will Clyburn having an off night (usually a kiss of death for the Cyclones).
The unfortunate part of the win, according to WRNL, is the likelihood of another “I love the Cyclones” rap song.
The Cyclones and Buckeyes tip off at 12:15 p.m. ET on Sunday in Dayton, Ohio.
