The 2013 Shell Houston Open begins on Thursday from the Redstone tournament course in Humble, Texas as players continue to prepare for the Masters in two weeks.

The PGA Tour moves to Redstone Country Club for the 2013 Shell Houston Open. Play gets underway on Thursday, but who’s the favorite heading in?

Rory McIlroy is scheduled to compete after a brief layoff from PGA Tour events. McIlroy is also the betting favorite heading into Thursday’s first round. He will begin the tournament in a group with Dustin Johnson and Keegan Bradley. Phil Mickelson is also scheduled to be in the field, in an event he’s had some recent success in. Mickelson won the Shell Houston Open in 2011 and finished in a tie for fourth place last season. On Thursday, he will play in a pairing with Hunter Mahan and Geoff Ogilvy.
Other notable pairings include Steve Stricker playing with Bill Haas and Brandt Snedeker, and Lee Westwood being paired with Louis Oosthuizen and Charlie Beljan.
Thursday’s opening round will be televised by the Golf Channel with coverage from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. ET. Here is a complete look at the first round tee times (all times ET).
