Anthony was 1-of-5 from the field for six points before exiting. New York did close the gap in the second quarter without their star, heading into a halftime trailing 61-49. Amar'e Stoudemire (10 points) and Iman Shumpert (eight points) have powered the Knicks in Anthony's abscense.
Should Anthony be out for any period of time, it will certainly be a huge blow to the Knicks. Anthony entered the contest tied with Kevin Durant for the league's lead in scoring, averaging 28.6 points per game. The Knicks star had scored 30 or more points in his last three games.
New York entered the night as the No. 3 seed in the Eastern Conference, with a three-game lead over the Brooklyn Nets in the Atlantic Division.
