College baseball scores 2013: Top-ranked SEC teams win on Sunday

Only one top-10 team faced an upset in Sunday’s action, while the top SEC teams continued rolling on.

The SEC dominated the headlines in the college baseball world Sunday, as 10 teams from the conference were on display. The biggest upset of the day, though, came from the ACC, as unranked Miami took down No. 9 Virginia 4-3 to improve to 20-11 on the season.

No. 2 LSU topped Missouri 6-5 in a game that became a pitching battle down the stretch. Cody Glenn gave up five runs in 1.2 innings to start out for LSU, but the bullpen took over and shut things down the remainder of the game.

Fifth-ranked Vanderbilt poured on the offense to beat Tennessee 12-8. Both sides finished with 16 hits, but the Volunteers left 12 runners on base. Mike Yastrzemski went 4-for-5 at the plate with one RBI for the Commodores.

No. 10 Kentucky routed Georgia 5-0 riding a seven-inning shutout from Corey Litrell, who improved to 4-0 on the season. The only upset in SEC country came in Gainesville, as the Gators knocked off No. 12 Mississippi 4-0. No. 11 Arkansas defeated No. 17 Mississippi State 3-1 in the only ranked matchup of the day.

Top-ranked North Carolina jumped out to a 2-0 lead over Clemson, but a rain delay cut things short in the top of the third.
