NBC paid a lot of money to gain full rights to the English Premier League ($85 million per year, to be exact), and a lot rides on their on-air team to help execute and provide good coverage to sell the new package to both diehard fans and potential converts. If I may editorialize, the report coming out today being true would mean the folks at NBC are on the right track to doing so.
Report: NBC to name Arlo White lead play-by-play man for Premier League coverage
The MLS play-by-play man will get to call Premier League matches in his native England.

EPL Talk is reporting Arlo White will be named as the lead play-by-play man for English Premier League coverage on the network. White, a Leicester native who has been calling MLS matches in the United States on a local level since 2010 and for NBC since 2012, will likely be on-site for NBC’s biggest EPL matches each week, based on previous announcement. EPL Talk is also reporting NBC will announce more details on Tuesday at a press conference. Rebecca Lowe was previously announced as the network’s main studio host.
NBC’s deal with the league is for three years (through the 2015-16 season), and will include every match played within the league for those three years. Games will be presented on NBC, NBC Sports Network, the newly-formed NBC Sports Live Extra app and potentially other networks each week.
