2013 NASCAR at Kansas Speedway weather forecast: Threat of showers Sunday?

The “NASCAR Weatherman” Meteorologist Brian Neudorff takes a look at the weather for this weekends NASCAR Sprint Cup race at Kansas Speedway

The big weather question this weekend for NASCAR at Kansas Speedway is, “Will it rain on Sunday?” There is a chance, but in my professional opinion not much of one to really worry about.

High pressure builds in today but expect skies to be partly to mostly cloudy for today. The overall pattern across the Central Plains that of a northwest flow. This will provide moisture for clouds and a possible disturbance for Sunday afternoon/evening.

There doesn’t appear to be much moisture available for this system to produce much in the form of rain. It looks like skies will be mostly cloudy. At worst we see a couple of scattered showers during the late afternoon into the evening. More than likely the race stays dry but there is a chance that a shower or two need to be mention. No rain out expected, we race on Sunday.
