After holding the Celtics to just 25 second-half points in an 85-78 Game 1 victory, the Knicks did even better in Game 2, allowing just 23 second-half points in an 87-71 blowout win to go up 2-0 in the series.

For the game, Golden State shot a staggering 64.6 percent overall and made 14-of-25 from downtown. It was quite the display from a team that had struggled at times offensively this season when Lee was not on the floor. After falling behind by two after one quarter, the Warriors scored 35 points in each of the last three quarters, outscoring the Nuggets by 16 over the course of that time frame.

    Celtics face their mortality, again

    Debby Wong-USA TODAY Sports

Since the 2010 season, the C’s have profiled as a bad offensive basketball team. They turn it over too much, they don’t get to the free throw line enough and they lack the fundamental thing all NBA teams must have to run successful offenses in this day and age: shot creators. (*Cough* Rondo *Cough*.)

They’ve survived because of their defense and that vaunted D was shredded for 32 points in a disastrous third quarter. They couldn’t stop Ray Felton from slicing them up on the pick and roll and they couldn’t deal with Melo when he inevitably got hot.

Doc calls fouls on Garnett ‘horrendous’

    Debby Wong-USA TODAY Sports

Discussing how the referees called Game 2 at the post-game media conference, Rivers described the fouls called on Garnett as “horrendous.”

Referees called five fouls on Garnett, including two early fouls that quickly sent the All-Star to the bench minutes into the game. His return in the second quarter hastened a run that put the Celtics ahead, but the Knicks eventually battled back to pull away.

Curry, Barnes help Warriors knot series

Warriors head coach Mark Jackson decided the best way to combat Denver’s fast-paced offense was with more offense as Golden State allowed the Nuggets to shoot a strong 50 percent from the field.

There was a scary moment for fans in the Bay Area when Curry went down late in the third quarter after rolling his left ankle while trying to dribble out of a double team. After receiving treatment and walking it off on the sidelines, he was able to return and finish out a strong game.

    J.R. Smith celebrates buzzer-beating 3 with dance

As far as J.R. Smith things go, J.R. Smith hitting long jumpers to beat the clock have to be quite high on the list. You know, right up there with inappropriate tweets.

So of course he hits this last-second three. He’s a shook-up can of soda and after the shot he lets it all out in a celebratory dance homage to equal parts Broadway and Little Richard.

Schedule for Tuesday’s NBA Playoffs action

    Debby Wong-USA TODAY Sports

Curry was shaky early in his first career postseason game, but still finished with 19 points after finding his rhythm in the second half. If he can make more shots like the three-pointer that nearly forced overtime in Game 1, the Nuggets may not necessarily have an easy time dispatching Golden State.

Here’s the schedule for Tuesday including all of the TV information:
