Two members of Richard Childress Racing have been arrested after an altercation following Friday’s Nationwide Series race at Richmond International Raceway.

Two crew members for Richard Childress Racing were arrested following a fight after Friday’s NASCAR Nationwide Series race.


Henrico County police arrested Michael Searce, 50, on two charges of misdemeanor assault, and Thomas Costello, 35, on one count of misdemeanor assault.
Both were released early Saturday.
Searce and Costello are crew members on RCR’s Nationwide team for driver Brian Scott.
Scott was involved in an earlier skirmish with Nelson Piquet Jr. when he attempted to confront Piquet on pit road about an incident that had occurred on the track. Piquet shoved and then kicked Scott in the groin.
The USA Today reports the hostilities carried over to the motorhome lot, where one adult male victim sustained an injured shoulder.
According to an online Henrico County Police database, the fight occurred at roughly 11 p.m. ET and arrests were made at 2:26 a.m. ET.
