Mets announcers are cold, stylish

Gary Cohen, Keith Hernandez and Ron Darling get what will probably be their last use of the best in winter fashions.

The New York Mets are taking on the San Diego Padres on Wednesday night, and are well on their way to getting their second win of the year. Of course, this is the Mets, so there’s always something quirky going on.

Tonight, it’s in the SNY booth, where Gary Cohen, Keith Hernandez and Ron Darling are dressed as you see above. Hernandez appears to have hunting gloves and a bit of a fur collar. Darling has the late-90s boy band scarf hanging ever so carelessly, and Cohen -- long considered the “regular Joe” of the three -- has gone with the Eminem, 8 Mile-esque skull cap.

Seriously, these guys probably make up the best broadcast team in baseball (I didn’t say “best broadcast” so don’t yell at me, Vin Scully fans) and they’re stuck calling the Mets every night. That’s an especially daunting task, given the team hasn’t had a winning season since 2008. Rock on with your bad selves, SNY booth!
