A mild 7-3 run by Syracuse to open the half seemed to indicate that they were about come back from an 11-point halftime deficit. Then Michigan upped the tempo with two dunks and a barely-missed alley-oop, and Jim Boeheim had no choice but to call an incredibly quick timeout with all the momentum with the Wolverines.
Syracuse vs. Michigan score update: Wolverines’ offense cools off, lead 45-39
Michigan built an 11-point lead heading into halftime, and the game has been see-sawing back and forth since.
The lead could be more, but Mitch McGary and Tim Hardaway Jr. have both failed to convert on relatively open jump shots. Trey Burke has also been limited to 1-6 shooting and hasn't scored in the second half. As a result, Syracuse has slowly chipped back into the game and are now only down by six.
For Syracuse, it's C.J. Fair who keeps coming up with big plays. He's up to 16 points on 6-11 shooting, with 5 rebounds.
