Street Spice will be withdrawn from the 138th annual Preakness Stakes at Pimlico Race Course in Baltimore, according to Daily Racing Form’s Jay Privman.

Despite a stretch of strong finishes leading up to the Triple Crown races, Street Spice will be held out of the Preakness after not running in the Kentucky Derby.

Street Spice did not participate in the Kentucky Derby, and last raced on April 20 in the Illinois Derby, finishing in fifth place. The three-year-old colt will have to wait until the Belmont Stakes for a shot at racing in a Triple Crown race after trainer Greg Geier informed Pimlico officials about his decision on Saturday.
All six of Street Spice's career starts have come at Chicago-area tracks; five took place at Hawthorne, where he has twice been victorious. The other, Street Spice's debut, came at Arlington Park on Sept. 20, 2012.
On the same day Geier announced that Street Spice would not race, Mylute was confirmed as a starter by his trainer, Tom Amoss. 11 horses have been confirmed for the field in the middle leg of the Triple Crown.
