The vote for the cover athlete of NHL 14 has reached the Round of Eight portion of the competition, EA Sports announced on Monday afternoon.

EA Sports has announced that the Round of Eight has been set in the cover vote competition for NHL 14.

Voting closed on the Sweet 16 on Sunday, with the following players advancing to the next round:
The next round of voting will pit Datsyuk against Lupul, Brodeur against van Riemsdyk, Hall against Bobrovsky and Simmonds against Tavares. Voting for the Datsyuk-Lupul and Simmonds-Tavares series will begin on May 13 and conclude on May 19. The other two series will begin on May 20 and conclude on May 26. From there, the Final Four will be set.
As was the case with previous rounds, fans can vote an unlimited amount of times. In addition, voters can utilize social media to double the votes of their favorite player by using specific hashtags on Twitter on Thursdays. Fans can place their votes by clicking here.
