Anaheim Ducks defenseman Francois Beauchemin will require surgery to repair a torn ACL, general manager Bob Murray announced on Tuesday.

Bob Murray gave his end-of-the-year press conference and updated several situations involving the Ducks.

Beauchemin played with the injury for the final month of the season. Despite this, the 32-year-old defenseman averaged 25:22 of ice time per game over the team's seven-game playoff series with the Detroit Red Wings. That total was two minutes higher than Beauchemin's regular season average of 23:27.

In addition, captain Ryan Getzlaf and goaltender Viktor Fasth were both revealed to be dealing with injuries. Fasth injured a lower abdominal muscle and was playing at 80 percent at the end of the year. Getzlaf was dealing with an injured ankle he sustained on March 3.
Murray also revealed that Nick Bonino was kept out for a month due to a torn hamstring.
In terms of the team's future, many wonder about Teemu Selanne. Murray stated that he hopes to have Selanne back next season and will begin discussions in the coming weeks. Selanne stated that the early exit left many in the room wanting more and discussed the concept of unfinished business. Whether that means he feels like he has unfinished business remains to be seen.
Murray also expressed interest in retaining Saku Koivu, who at 38 years old is likely nearing the end of his career. Koivu will take time to contemplate his future and whether he wishes to continue playing.
