The draw for the 138th annual Preakness Stakes takes place on Wednesday, with the No. 6 spot representing the most coveted starting position.

Departing has 5/1 odds and Goldencents, the horse in which Rick Pitino holds a small stake, has 7/1 odds to win after finishing 17th in the Derby.
Expect the odds to change significantly once the post positions are announced on Wednesday.
Starting post positions for the 2013 Preakness Stakes will be drawn on Wednesday in the International Pavilion at Pimlico Race Course in Baltimore. The event will be televised on HRTV and ESPN3 at 6 p.m. ET. Here is the process for the draw, courtesy of the race’s official website:
Pimlico racing officials will use a pill pull, which employs a small numbered ball in a blind draw, to decide post positions for the middle jewel of racing's Triple Crown.
The No. 6 position has proven to be the best draw over the years. Fifteen horses that started out of that spot went on to win the race. Last year's No. 6 position, Creative Cause, finished third in the race, while winner I'll Have Another started at the No. 9 post.
