Preakness 2013 odds: Orb remains favorite

The Kentucky Derby winner is a clear favorite for Saturday’s Preakness Stakes.

USA TODAY Sports

The second leg of horse racing’s Triple Crown is set for Saturday and Orb is still the odds-on favorite at the Preakness Stakes as of Thursday morning’s lines.

Orb, the Kentucky Derby winner, and his jockey, Joel Rosario, are currently atop the nine-horse field at 10/11 odds to win, according to the latest lines from the Bovada Sportsbook. At 6/1 odds, Mylute is next in line and Departing’s 13/2 odds follow that.

The biggest long shot at the Preakness remains Titletown Five, with updated odds of 28/1. The second-longest odds belong to Oxbow at 16/1.

Goldencents, owned in part by Louisville men’s basketball head coach and current national champion Rick Pitino, is at 8/1, while Itsmyluckyday and Will Take Charge have 12/1 odds. Govenor Charlie is listed at 10/1.

Run at the Pimlico Race Course in Baltimore, Maryland, the Preakness, or “The Run for the Black-Eyed Susans,” is a 1-3/16 mile course, slightly shorter than the Kentucky Derby’s 1-1/4 mile race.
