Kentucky Derby odds 2013: Orb, Verrazano early favorites
A look at the up-to-date Derby odds, including where Rick Pitino’s horse, Goldencents, stands.

Each with 4/1 odds, Orb, the winner of four straight races, and Verrazano sit atop the 20-horse draw. Verrazano will start from the No. 14 post on Saturday, with Orb two spots down at No. 16.
Goldencents, who will race out of the No. 8 spot, has the best odds after the top two at 11/2. This is the horse co-owned by Louisville men’s basketball head coach Rick Pitino. That guy sure needs something good to go his way this year.
Going down the line, Revolutionary and Normandy Invasion have 9/1 odds out of the No. 3 and 5 posts, respectively, and Itsmyluckyday carries 12/1 odds running out of the No. 12 posting.
Looking for long shots? Black Onyx, Golden Soul, Giant Finish and Falling Sky all have 50/1 odds of winning the first leg of the Triple Crown. This one, though, could be wet. CCurrent forecasts for Saturday in Louisville project a 70 percent chance of rain, potentially heavy at times, which could certainly affect the proceedings at Churchill Downs.
